Crime Scene Investigative Unit

The Pampa PD Crime Scene Unit is on call 24 hours a day seven days a week. The Unit is currently available to assist any agency within the 31st District and Carson County.

The CSU is responsible for all major crime scene processing and are on call to handle day to day field ID request. There is a expert fingerprint examiner within the unit. The Unit has access to the AFIS (Automated Fingerprint System).

Once the Unit arrives on scene, the scene is released to them for processing. This allows the on-scene Detective(s) to be freed up to investigate the crime.

The responsibilities of the CSU includes:

• Processing the scene The collection and preservation of evidence,
• the collection and preservation of any evidence,
• photographing the scene, and
• more

The Crime Scene Van and Trailer is equiped for those scenes that may require extended stays.
