DRUG ARREST MADE AFTER SHORT CHASE

PAMPA , TEXAS –

At around 4:50 a.m. on Friday, July 25, 2008 Officer Houston Gass attempted to stop a vehicle in the 1000 block of Mary Ellen Street for a traffic violation. Once the officer activated his emergency lights the driver of a white 1999 Pontiac Grand Am accelerated and attempted to elude the officer. The vehicle then pulled over quickly near the intersection of Virginia and Duncan. The driver, later identified as Charles Glenn Spencer age 46 of Pampa, fled on foot and down an alley. Officers were able to catch up with Spencer and take him into custody without further incident. He was transported to Gray County Jail where he was charged with Evading Arrest and Detention in a vehicle and Possession of a Controlled Substance over one gram but under 4 grams.
