TWO ARRESTED AFTER DEADLY CONDUCT INCIDENT

PAMPA , TEXAS

On 7/25/2008 at around 12:20 A.M. officers were dispatched to a shots fired call in the 500 block of Lefors Street. While in route they were advised that the vehicle had left the scene and the direction of travel. The vehicle, a Red 2001 Ford pickup, was spotted by officers east bound, a few blocks away, in the 700 block of East Browning Street. Officers Jon Hammond and Tobie Bias did a felony stop on the pick-up (due to the possibility of a gun). Erasmo Renteria, age 42 of Pampa and a 16 year old juvenile male were taken into custody and charged with deadly conduct. At this time it is believed that the 16 year old is the one who fired the weapon into the air in the 500 block of N. Lefors Street. Officers did locate a .45 caliber handgun and ammunition in the pick-up. The juvenile was transported to the Youth Center of the High Plains in Amarillo where he is being held. Erasmo Renteria was transported to Gray County Jail and charged with Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon and Deadly Conduct. The incident is still under investigation.
