PARKING ENFORCEMENT CLASS STARTS SOON

PAMPA , TEXAS –

The Pampa Police Department will begin training volunteers in the newly developed “Volunteer Disabled Parking Enforcement Program”. In June 2008 the Pampa City Commission approved the utilization of Citizen Volunteers to enforce laws related to disabled parking violations. On September 15, 2008 the first training class will be held. Volunteers are required to attend a four hour training class and spend 2 – 4 hours riding with a uniformed officer prior to being able to issue citations for disabled parking violations. Volunteers must first complete an application and extensive background check prior to being accepted into the program.
