15 Month Old Child Struck by Vehicle driven by relative

PAMPA , TEXAS –

On Friday, September 19, 2008 at around 12:20 P.M. Officers, EMS Personnel and Fire Department were dispatched to the EMS Building located in the 1000 Block of South Barnes in reference to a 15 month old child being struck by a vehicle. Officers were advised that a family member had backed over the child in the 1000 block of Prairie drive and the family had taken the child to the EMS building for medical attention. Unfortunately at the time there was no one at the building because the ambulance was out on another emergency. Lt. Kenneth Hopson then located the vehicle as they were travelling north in the 600 block of N. Cuyler. He made contact and was also meet by fire and EMS personnel. The child was transported by ambulance and then life flighted to Northwest Texas Hospital where emergency surgery was performed. At this time the child is in critical condition. The incident is still under investigation.
