Pampa PD Investigating Late Night Aggravated Assault

PAMPA , TEXAS –

At around 01:16 A.M. on Saturday, 9/27/08 officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Perry Street in regards to someone being shot. When officers arrived they found 19 year old Carlos A. Hernandez of 115 N. Starkweather of Pampa, lying on the floor with a gunshot wound to the head. Hernandez was taken to Northwest Texas Hospital by Lifestar where he is in grave condition. Investigators have recovered the weapon and Juan D. Cano age 25 of 514 N. Warren of Pampa has been arrested and charged with the Assault. Cano has been booked into Gray County Jail awaiting arraignment. It is believed that Cano and Hernandez got into an argument at which time Cano produced a .22 caliber rifle and shot Hernandez in the head. The case is still under investigation at this time. Investigators continue to talk to witness's that may have been present at the time of the incident
