The Security Survey is the primary tool used in crime prevention to recognize, appraise and anticipate loss potential.  A security survey is an in-depth on-site examination of a physical facility and its surrounding property (industrial plant, business, other public buildings, or a residence).  The survey is conducted to determine a facility's security status, to identify deficiencies or security risks, to define the protection needed, and to make recommendations to minimize criminal opportunity.  Anyone desiring a security survey may contact the Pampa Police Department and a Police Officer that is a certified Crime Prevention Officer will come to your location to perform the security survey after which the Officer will discuss with you his findings.

The Homeowner's Insurance Premium Reduction Program is designed to encourage citizens to become involved in crime prevention by reducing opportunities for residential  burglary.  As a citizen of the Pampa area, you can contact the Pampa Police Department and request a homeowner's insurance inspection.  A Police Officer that is a certified Crime Prevention Inspector will come to your home and inspect all exterior doors, windows, locks, and security alarm system (if applicable).  If your home passes the inspection, the inspector will forward a copy of the findings to the Texas Department of Insurance and a certificate will be sent to you so that you can give it to your insurance company, that may lower your insurance premium from approximately 5%-15%
